We all know by now that soda (also known as "pop" in some places) are one of the worst things you can put in your body ... the nasty chemicals, corn syrup, high fructose makes you fat abdomen, and a myriad of health problems caused by this carbonated cocktail worshiped by those who do not care about your health or your body.
Since you're one of my subscribers, I know you really care about your health and appearance of your body.
Surprisingly, many people mistakenly believe that the drink "diet" is somehow a good thing to lose body fat. In fact, I hear people all the time proudly say that they eat very healthy and only drink diet soda.
so lets make things clear
There is NOTHING even remotely healthy diet soda consumption. In fact, I've even seen several studies showing that diet soda drinkers gained weight even more than their counterparts, regular soda drinkers.
Here are some results of an 8-year I read, performed at the University of Texas ...
An excerpt from the author of the study:
"What surprised us was not that all soft drink consumption is linked to overweight and obesity," Fowler tells WebMD. "What was surprising was when we saw that the risk of obesity was even higher for people who only drank diet soda."
"There was a 41 percent increase in the risk of being overweight for every can or bottle of diet soda a person consumed each day," says Fowler.
Ok, as if it did not already know how bad they are common soft drinks for us and now we are showing that diet soda makes us even more fat than the average, already bad!
Many factors complicate the reason why this happens ...
One reason is that artificial sweeteners in diet sodas cause a negative hormonal response in the body, which increases the production of the hormone of fat storage and increases cravings for more sweets and refined carbohydrates in the period after consumption of the diet drink.
Another cause is that people may subconsciously think that because they are drinking a diet soda, it gives them more leeway to eat more of everything else and, therefore, consume more calories overall.
I've said all along, but the conclusion is that if are serious about your health and body, soda of any kind (and also artificial sweeteners in anything!) Should be kept away at all times, except for very rare times when you can not avoid them.
Another article I wrote about artificial sweeteners explained the problems with them and what are good substitutes ...
So what is another good alternative to diet soda?
The best alternatives are outright water with lemon or unsweetened iced teas ... you have many options with teas - green, white, black, oolong, red ... be creative in preparing your iced tea and you'll enjoy it more. Plus, you get a greater variety of antioxidants against aging.
